The bag thing
In the City of Zurich, ordinary household waste is collected using official fee-paid Züri-Säcke. Do not use ordinary black bags for municipal household-waste collection.
Collection day matters
Check the city collection calendar for your exact street. Cardboard/paper, green waste and other streams have their own schedules or collection points.
Glass, metal and more
Use designated recycling points and follow posted hours. Avoid dropping glass late at night; neighborhood noise rules still apply.
Apartment-building rule
Your building may have its own trash room and instructions. Follow those even if you know the city rules — Hausordnung and property management practices can be more specific.
